What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Shop

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed or purchased
  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like tax, shipping, accounting and legal purposes

We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

When you purchase from us, we might ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, email address, phone number and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

Payments

We accept payments through Verotel. On checkout a secure encrypted connection (HTTPS) between you and Verotel will be made to process and verify your payment. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Verotel, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

We do not collect – or save – any credit card information on this site. All that is handled by our payment processor Verotel.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Who we share your data with

When using our shop your information will be shared with our credit card processor Verotel to verify your credit card.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 5 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email, billing and addresses.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, financial, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How we protect your data and data breach procedures

We use SSL to encrypt our users data communications on this site. Security updates to this website and server software are implemented regularly.

Credit card information’s are not stored on this site. We use a third party credit card processor (Verotel) who handles all credit card transactions via a secure connection (HTTPS).

In case of a data breach the admin will immediately try to find the breach and locate the source. Actions will be taken to stop and prevent further breaches. Any users affected will be notified.

Who on our team has access

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased.
  • Customer information like your name, email and billing address information.

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill your orders and support you.
